Discourse as given by Goenkaji;

3. The Observation of Sensations

Whille observing a pleasant sensation, the student understands ‘I am experiencing a pleasant sensation’. While experiencing an unpleasant sensation, the student understands ‘I am experiencing an unpleasant sensation’. While experiencing a neither-pleasant-nor-unpleasant-sensation, the student understands ‘I am experiencing a neither-pleasant-nor-unpleasant sensation’. In each of these ways, the student experiences WITHOUT ATTACHMENT. Thus he dwells observing sensations in sensations, internally and externally, observing the phenomenon of arising and passing away, without clinging or aversion.
