DAY 39: Yoga Sutra 1.39

9 Oct

Sutra 1.39:  yatha abhimata dhvanat

  • yatha = for instance, you try, as, according to
  • abhimata = that which is longer for, desired, imagined
  • dhyanat = meditate on
  • va = or

Translated loosely into English;

Or by meditating on that which is desired.

The Law of Attraction, religions and cultures, around the world, past and present, all teach that what the mind and heart truly desires, it will manifest.  What the student wishes to cultivate, whether it be good-will, wisdom, peace, compassion, any trait or attribute, will be manifested by concentrating on that subject.
